Nancy Denmark Following a full time career as a self employed artist, I've moved into a semi-retired mode to make room for other things in life. Butterfly gardening is high on my time prioritization these days, and I enjoy teaching others how to attract a wide diversity of butterfly species to their own yard. My photographs have become my teaching tools, and often inspire others to plant for pollinators. My image description might often include some informative text about the subject matter. I'm rarely outside without a camera, as capturing 'in the moment' nature photos is part of my garden experience. I often rear caterpillars to observe and learn more about the full life cycles of each species. My close up photography has taught me so much about my subjects, as it brings me closer to things I can't observe with my naked eye. My photos will share the life cycles from eggs, through caterpillar instars, to adult butterflies, and an array of nectar flowers. Butterfly releases give me great 'up close and personal' experiences with these beautiful creatures. You may see a number of photos with this butterfly whisperer's hand as part of the scene, as I'm often juggling a camera in one hand with a caterpillar or butterfly on the other hand. Photography has turned into another creative outlet for me, and sharing my butterflies brings me great joy. I hope you will enjoy the beauty of the butterflies too, and feel a sense of the peace and calm they evoke. I'm entering this new arena of print on demand products on a wing and a prayer.
